A Day at the Beach

Some might find us crazy, but the kids and I went to the beach yesterday! Leaving at 12 (noon), we got on the beach at around 4 and stayed til 7pm. The Gorman's led the way and gave us not only a crazy day of excitement, but three wonderful hours of beachtime!

Somebody had already dug this huge ditch for the kids to play in - no work for the parents! See!?!?! There are some benefits to getting there late in the day...

Christine's chair - made by Mr. Matt.

Laura and Ryan chasing the waves.
Josh making his own path.
Having fun in the "pre-made" ditch!

3 Birthdays!

Josh and Christine's birthday party was this past Saturday. Nemo was the theme, and I had a try at my first "free-hand" birthday cake. 3 hours of cake work to cut it all up and see it eaten in 5 minutes - not sure if it was worth it!!! :)
Christine is going through a phase where she refuses to look at the camera and say cheese... below is the ONLY picture I got of her with her face in it!

Then on Sunday we celebrated Danny's birthday. He's just 1 month older than Josh and they are great buddies!

Fort McHenry

Each summer, we try to meet my grandparents and a few cousins at the Fort for a few midday hours to enjoy the nice breeze, a light lunch and some fun playing games! This year we played bocce ball and softball!

Time with Eagans!

Ryan and Mary Rose came into town a few weeks ago! We enjoyed the new Air and Space Museum with them, along with the National Zoo - both in DC. The boys had a great time with Bella and Claire - hopefully we'll get to see them (and their parents) again soon!

A Late 4th Post

Fourth of July that is. We enjoyed a dinner celebration with the Wohlgemuth's and Gorman's! Good times...

Got a great video of Christine's sparkler experience. Her face is pretty funny....

So, I thought I was videotaping the "finale" of our little driveway fireworks. I wasted good video time though... not quite the finale that Jeff was hoping for! :)

The kids and their sparklers. I didn't get a photo of Kate - did she light up a sparkler???

Take note of Laura's panicked face, she was pretty scared of the sparklers - so she gets mega-bravery points for trying it!

Movin' On Up...

... to a booster seat! Christine made the big move last night to the table - leaving our "used continually for 4 years" high chair very empty... sniff sniff...
scary shark goggles!

Christine's favorite $3 birthday present! Thank you Grandad!

Singing happy birthday!
Blowing out her candles during the middle of our singing - maybe we paused for too long??Eating lunch at a recent pool visit

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE!!!! Thank you Lord for our little bundle of joy and for the amazing year and 2 months we've had with her!
